For Bristol, for good
Our B Corp Journey
Ten years ago, we set out to change how people feel about estate agents. To show that this industry can be different - more human, more hopeful, and more connected to the places we call home.
In 2025 we gained B Corp certification joining a global community of businesses using their power to be catalysts for positive change, and became only the third certified Estate Agent in the UK.
“Our mission has always been about more than buying and selling homes - it’s about strengthening the fabric of Bristol itself,”
Nick Stopard, Co Founder and Managing Director
A FORCE FOR CHANGE SINCE 2014
Being the change we want to see in the world
10 years ago we set up Boardwalk with one really clear mission; to change the way people felt about estate agents. Part of that mission was to hold a mirror up to the sub-standard practices at play in our industry and challenge the status quo.
As proud Bristolians we felt the need to be a catalyst for positive change, a force for good where our work could in essence, ripple outwards to cause positive outcomes and sustain better communities within our city. The better the communities, the better results we can achieve for our clients, and the happier and more successful our team are.
This cycle completes with our re-investment of 5% of profits back into the communities we serve. While there is still so much more to do, that little drop in the ocean we made over 10 years ago, is now causing the right kind of ripples throughout our industry and into this incredible city we all call our home.
Last year, we gave 5% of our profits back to Bristol - supporting local projects, championing creativity, and backing the people shaping our city’s future.
Celebrating creativity in the communities of Southville, Bedminster and Ashton. We have teamed up with the team at SBA to help grow the event with interactive workshops, school competitions and event marketing.
"Boardwalk has generously supported the South Bristol Arts Trail for two years now. With their support we have been able to further grow, develop and celebrate our Arts Trail. The financial and marketing support has enabled us to reach a wider audience and increase the professionalism of our annual event. With Boardwalk's support it's felt like we've been able to really step it up a notch."
Fiona Clabon, Organiser South Bristol Arts Trail
With over 30 garden's opening their doors (or gates) to the public, this well loved community event is a local treasure. Encouraging and inspiring more gardening in and around the city.
"It was really clear to us that Boardwalk really understood the community ethos of our event, and gave the perfect level of support, working hand in hand to help us deliver our most successful event to date."
Matthew Symmonds, Secret Gardens Trail Organiser
Taking place across the Victoria Park and Windmill Hill area of South Bristol this Arts Trail is renowned for its community-led performance and workshops. We were delighted to be able to help the trail to get more artists and visitors across the weekend in 2024.
"Art On The Hill has been delighted with Boardwalk's sponsorship this year. Boardwalk's support has been invaluable in advertising and hosting a successful trail this year. Participants and organisers absolutely loved the special venue boards. We would love to work with Boardwalk again in future years."
Anne-Marie, Organiser, Art on the Hill Totterdown
Now in it's 24th year Totterdown Arts Trail sits atop the Community arts trail calendar. The coloured streets of the area are synonymous with most tourist brochures - but the trail brings over 200 of the most wonderfully vibrant and diverse group of artists together in celebration of their craft. We were delighted to have been able to help them bring their trail to a wider audience.
"Totterdown Arts Trail recently teamed up with Boardwalk and it was great experience. The team were in touch throughout the whole process and really helpful, helping to push things along smoothly, and tie us in with collaborators, such as printers. We have recently had amazing feedback regarding visibility & social media presence. We couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out and we love our new style Arts Trail - thanks Boardwalk!"
Totterdown Arts Trail Team
Easton and Greenbank are two of the most diverse and vibrant communities in the wider Bristol Area. From the numerous artist and makers' studios, to the celebrated local community art projects, we knew that BS5 Arts trail was going to be one of the City's most loved trails.
"In a world full of algorithms and AI, Bristol stands up as a bastion for innovation and creative spirit. Events like the BS5 Arts Trail have never been more vital to nourish our communities and encourage more creative endeavour.”
We've partnered with Blooming Bedminster for their special 20th anniversary year of the Good Garden Awards. Celebrating the amazing passion for gardening in the city, the awards champion the inspiring spaces that homeowners across south Bristol have created.
"By celebrating more nature-filled spaces in our streets the awards instil a sense of pride among communities and dare we say - a bit of friendly competition! Now in it's 20th year, the awards are only possible thanks to the amazing team of judges and the brilliant green-fingered communities of Bristol."
OUR B CORP CERTIFICATION
How we scored
Scoring over 100 points is a huge achievement and backs up all the hard work we have been doing over the last 10 years. While our score is something to be proud of we also know there are a number of areas we can still improve on. Our impact report sets out some tough, but realistic targets.
