Nestled among a collection of creative independents on Bristol’s Colston Street, Magasin is the vision of interior designer and stylist Emily Rickard. Twenty years in the making, this boutique store and design studio draws inspiration from Emily's personal journey, reflecting her years spent living in New York and Sydney, as well as the influence of her travels to Paris.

From their very first visit to the shop, Emily and her team Emma and Bailey felt an instant affinity for the space. A former bookshop, the characterful building was the perfect place to realise Emily’s dream.
To the rear of the store you’ll find inspiring samples, from Bert & May tiles to LICK paint colour swatches, ready and waiting for Emily’s interior design clients. To the front, you’ll find a selection of carefully curated homeware, lighting, art and decorative objects. Sourcing products from across the world, Emily re-visited suppliers that she worked with through her design agency, in some cases becoming the first stockist of their products in the UK.
‘We came up with this idea that it's curated, designed for slow living, which is picking really wisely, not picking too many things and doing it really slowly.’
Emily’s personal style can be seen in the shop’s warm and calming colour palette, interspersed with playful touches of patterns, including gorgeous Rive Droite leopard print bags made from recycled cotton. Parisian style rooted in Bristol, Magasin is perfectly at home in the creative Colston Street quarter - a welcoming space designed to inspire.
