Design with intention: functional minimalism with Sustainable Kitchens

A sense of tranquility washes over as Lindsay, Head of Creative at Sustainable Kitchens, walks us through this beautifully crafted Japandi inspired kitchen. The scallop pink cabinets and emerald green tiles, the curvature of the island leading you around to the reading nook - each detail has been carefully considered to create a space which feels both calm and practical.
Keeping true to their name, sustainability is at the heart of the Bristol-based design studio - from choosing the right materials, to considering longevity and quality of product. The cabinets here are crafted with oak - their signature material, and the worktop is made of Dekton which is a highly durable carbon-neutral material.
Lindsay demonstrates how their clients changing needs were considered in each design element, ensuring the kitchen would sustain them for many years to come. Each decision in this project has been made with intention: the distance between working areas ensuring functionality and accessibility, the sink and hob placed on the island looking out to the garden, and the painted cabinets which are easily redecorated over time.
The functional, durable aspects paired with simplistic style make this kitchen sure to last a lifetime.
